For white wine, I prefer light and bright, mainly Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc. For reds, I love the bold – a Cabernet Sauvignon or Petite Syrah, while my husband leans toward a juicy Pinot Noir.

But, regardless of the varietal, we love wine: wine tasting, wine drinking, wine tours, wine education, etc. etc.
In case you’re interested in where we do a lot of our drinking, here are some of our favorite wineries from back home (Sonoma County):
- Red Car, Sebastopol (a rosé that can’t be beat – limited availability)
- Fog Crest Vineyard, Sebastopol (amazing hospitality and views for daaaays)
- Kendall-Jackson, Santa Rosa (great food and wine pairing experience)
- Kunde Family Winery, Kenwood (beautiful mountain top tasting)
- VJB Vineyard & Cellars, Kenwood (awesome outside seating, has a deli, a pizza oven, and gelato)
- Davis Family Vineyard, Healdsburg (bocce ball)
- Holdredge Wines, Healdsburg (only serves Pinot Noir)
- Trentadue Winery, Geyserville (my wedding venue!)
- Francis Ford Coppola, Geyserville (pool, cabana, movie memorabilia, delicious restaurant — we had our rehearsal dinner in the barrel room)
If you visit any of these, please share photos! What’s your favorite wine varietal? Where do you do your drinking?
Cheers!

“Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.”
― Ernest Hemingway
Most of our annual wine holidays are around Europe but especially France. Our favourite region is Burgundy so we love Pinot Noir from Pommard and Chardonnay from Meursault. We have friends who are vigneron in both villages 👍🍷👫

Hi Dr B — I haven’t made it to the wine region of France yet, but it’s at the top of my list! I’ll definitely make a note to check out those places. Thank you! Cheers!
