It’s National Donut Day! This holiday is celebrated in the United States on the first Friday of June of each year.
Did you know National Donut Day started in 1938 as a fund raiser for Chicago’s The Salvation Army? Their goal was to help those in need during the Great Depression, and to honor The Salvation Army “Lassies” of World War I, who served doughnuts to soldiers.
To celebrate, Coravin put together a helpful chart of what wines pair perfectly with which donuts!

What type of donut are you eating today to celebrate? My personal favorite is a maple donut paired with a crisp and citrus-y white wine!

Cheers!
